Welcome to the Diocese of Providence, Office of Religious Education and Young Adult Ministry webpage. We are happy you are here! This website will communicate how this Office, in serving the ministry of catechesis, “echoes” the Good News of Jesus Christ as taught by his apostles and their successors down through the ages.
In the Acts of the Apostles we read that the members of the early Christian community “devoted themselves to the teaching of the apostles and to the communal life, to the breaking of the bread and to prayers” (Acts 2:42). From the very foundations of the Church these dimensions of Word, Worship, Community, and Service have been essential to the Church’s life and mission. These four dimensions are vital to our own life as we, individually and collectively, seek to discover Christ, experience his presence in the Church, lead by faith, serve with charity, and witness to hope.

May this website be a gateway for you to seek Christ and to engage in a living, loving encounter with him and his Church. Pope Benedict XVI stated, “The Christian vocation is always a renewal of this personal friendship with Jesus Christ, which gives full meaning to our lives and makes us open to the Kingdom of God.” (May 7, 2006)
